About

Tekton is a Greek word for Artisan or Craftsman or Builder. It is the word used to describe the profession of Jesus before he began his ministry. We are followers of Jesus Christ as the Master Tekton.

Our work for the most part uses hand tools and locally sourced and reclaimed wood, rope, leather, and stone. Our skills are in woodworking, timber frame construction, and carpentry. We do custom work, 3D design, and teach various crafts. We use hand tools because they allow, if not require, that work be done with others. We choose to do work in a way that allows relationships to be built with others through our shared work. All men seek to serve a higher purpose and our mission is to serve the poor and homeless community in and around Austin following the example of Christ.

We are always happy to to discuss new design work, small projects, furniture construction, or a building that might be needed. We are available to teach either individually or in a small group setting. Contact us through this website contact page.

All of the income from this work is used to support directly the poor and homeless in the Austin area. All of the proceeds from sales on this site go directly to the homeless or disabled. We accept donations to pay for the wood and materials, for tools and supplies, and for any transaction fees. In some cases donations of money will pay for food or rent for a disabled or homeless person. Our goal is to provide a dignified income to people that we support. Some of them can be seen on our people page.
